Senior Drop-In Centre ~ Made possible with financial support from Interior Health

What's 'new' at the Senior Drop in Program!

Colleen Hazeldine, a recent graduate of Sprott Shaw, Human Service Worker program has been hired as the new Senior Drop-in Facilitator. Colleen is currently familiarizing herself with the program with Diann at her side... and enjoying the time getting to know some of the community's seniors “they are just great! I feel good every day I am there!" The ball will be officially passed December 1.

A thank you to Diann Bastian who has not only facilitated an active, enjoyable, welcoming program for over 15 years but provided care and support for many seniors and their families . A job well done and she will be missed in this role by many.

Also a thank you to Solange Harrison and Elaine Gallagher who have been filling in during the transition period and who will remain in the wings as part of the Senior Team - ready to lend a hand if needed!

Volunteer support for the seniors program continues to be outstanding with about 12 seniors contributing more than 100 hours each month. Olena Bramble will continue as Senior Programming Volunteer Coordinator and will promote volunteerism, recruiting, training, orienting, and supporting volunteers.

Diann will continue in her role as Senior Program Coordinator assisting with program planning and offering seniors support, referral, resource and information.

The Seniors Drop-in Program will continue operating out of the OAP hall until Saddle Mountain renovations are complete likely not until the new year. Lunches now being offered Tuesday, (previously a Monday supper) Wednesday and Friday’s and activities and opportunities continue to be offered before and after!

The staff and community volunteers create a very well rounded support team. They continue to offer programs, services and supports for seniors in the community and welcome others to get involved in making the community the best it can be for our seniors.
