Providing Essential Services to Our Community
At Whitevalley Community Resource Centre, we are committed to providing a wide range of supportive services to all members of our community. Our goal is to foster well-being and create a supportive environment for everyone. The Centre offers a range of free (or low-cost) services or programs including counselling, youth and senior programs, family support, early years programming, and community outreach, all designed to promote health, well-being, and connection within the community.


Child & Youth Programs
Our programs for children and youth include after-school activities, summer camps, and support groups, all aimed at fostering development and learning.


The Kids Zone after school program, a licensed non-profit initiative hosted by Whitevalley Community Resource Centre, is held at Cherryville Elementary School every Monday and Thursday from 2:10 – 4:30 pm, running from November 2023 to March 2024.
Our Early Childhood Education programs are designed to foster healthy development, cultivate a love of learning, and equip children with the skills they need to become successful students.
The Whitevalley Community Resource Centre has hosted the Community Pride Youth Employment Program for over 20 years to support youth and local organizations/volunteer groups who give back to the community.
The After School Program offers a safe and supportive environment that positively impacts children's lives.
Summer Day Camp is a licensed, non-profit program hosted by Whitevalley Community Resource Centre for children who have attended kindergarten to grade 6.
The Parent & Tot Program is a free, welcoming drop-in support group for parents and caregivers with children ages 0-6.
Social Prescribing Community Connector is a person-centered approach to health and well-being that recognizes the important role social and environmental factors play in our overall health.
Our Seniors Service Coordinator is dedicated to connecting seniors, their families, and caregivers with essential community service providers and resources.
Our Volunteer Coordinator is dedicated to connecting individuals who are eager to give back to the community with meaningful volunteer opportunities in our seniors' programs.

Counselling & Support services
Our counselling and support services provide free, confidential, and compassionate care to help individuals and families navigate life’s challenges. We offer a variety of counselling options, with services personalized to meet each person’s or family’s unique needs—fostering emotional well-being, resilience, and stronger connections.


This program offers individual and group counselling for youth and adults in Lumby and surrounding areas.
Offering free, short-term counselling, this program addresses issues such as communication skills, anxiety, anger management, marital problems, grief, and stress.
Designed for adults dealing with serious and persistent mental illness, this service provides individual support to enhance daily living and quality of life.
Connect is a 10-week program to support parents and caregivers of pre-teens and teens with behavioural and emotional problems.
This program provides comprehensive family counselling, assisting parents/caregivers, teens, and children to address various household challenges.
To access counselling services at Whitevalley, you can either call our office to request service and complete an intake interview over the phone, or fill out our online intake form.
Available to students and families at J.W. Inglis Elementary, Charles Bloom Secondary, CrossRoads, and Cherryville Elementary.
The Community Volunteer Income Tax Program (CVITP) has existed since 1971 and is a longstanding partnership between the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) and community organizations and their volunteers.
Our office is a hub for The Good Food Box Society and take orders/payments each month. Orders placed through our office can be picked up at the Lumby museum.
The Lumby Community Garden is a valued community space that supports food security, mental well-being, and a sense of connection among residents.
